• Create an artwork style for Victoria Square’s latest Halloween display based on the theme ‘Creepy Carnival’.

  • The style must appeal to audiences from Victoria Square’s youngest to oldest clientele and everyone else in between. The artwork should avoid all Halloween stereotypes and clichés and should appear to be fashionable.

  • I looked at shapes commonly seen at carnivals: the makeup used by clowns and trapezists; the stripes of tents and bunting. I created patterns with these shapes and combined them with a refined, non-traditionally Halloween colour palette and a typeface with a similar feel to stereotypical carnival-like typefaces.
